How much does the store cost with PTOffice?

Decide between the free or percent pricing options for your store.

Free

There are zero PTOffice fees when you use our free pricing model. Instead, we request a tip from those making a purchase. These optional customer tips allow us to offer our store platform free of charge to you!

 

There are no subscriptions, no contracts, and no upfront cost. PTOffice's free pricing helps you keep nearly 100% of the sales you make with the store.

Sometimes free pricing isn't a good fit - for instance, when you don't want customers prompted for tips after checkout.

 

Percent pricing is an alternative to better suit specific needs. A fixed percent is applied to each purchase, and you decide who covers the cost.

 

Stripe will deduct 2.2% + 30c to process each credit card transaction (or 2.9% + 30c if not a nonprofit)

Creating your first PTOffice store? Get answers to the most frequently asked questions about stores here.

After creating your PTOffice account, you can head over to the Stores module and begin working through the step-by-step setup process. You'll add your products, upload images and add titles and descriptions.

Once your page is created, your products listed, and your store options set, you'll open your store for sales to begin.

From there, you'll use PTOffice's promotional tools - like email, social sharing and word of mouth - to get the word out about your sale.

Buyers will visit your page, add items to their cart and complete a basic checkout process.

Your store tracks all data and compiles sales reports for you in your dashboard for easy management.

Absolutely not - which makes it 'Free' to you! If a customer chooses to leave us a tip, the tip amount is added to their order total - making sure no money comes out of your profit.

We do not allow for the modification of the tip language during checkout. The tip language reads...

"Help us put 100% of your donation to work

Tip proceeds will go to our platform provider to fund the cost of hosting this campaign, allowing us to fully utilize your donation. Thanks for your help!"

Yes! Define your product variations and add them during setup. Each item added allows you to define the available options - so you can add variations like size and color.

Buyers will choose which options they want during checkout.

Example: A large, green t-shirt.

PTOffice does not manage, hold or ship any product. However, PTOffice does allow you to track an item's payment and fulfillment status.

To continue providing an exceptional PTO/PTA management platform, PTOffice online purchases are powered by optional fees collected through each credit card purchase. Every card run on PTOffice is subject to a Stripe fee (credit card processing fee) while there is a potentially optional PTOffice fee (platform fee) as well.

1. Credit card processing fee

All credit card processing is performed by Stripe, not PTOffice, and is separate from the PTOffice online sales fee. Like every payment processor, Stripe charges its own fee for processing payments (typically 2.2% + .30 for qualified non-profits).

2. PTOffice platform fee

PTOffice allows you to choose between two types of platform fee options - a Free Tip Jar or a Percentage fee.

The following describes the differences between our Free Tip Jar option and the Percentage Processing Fee option. Although a majority of our customers use the Free Tip Jar option, the description of each below can help you decide for yourself.

FREE TIP JAR (most popular)With this option, the purchaser will be presented with an optional "Tip Jar" at checkout. This tip is covered by the customer and does not come out of your profit. The tip amount is a transaction between the customer and PTOffice and is electronically directed to PTOffice. Don't worry, if no one tips, PTOffice simply doesn't receive any tips. You will not be responsible for "making up the difference".

These tips are provided by the customer and DO NOT affect your profit at all (see below).

PERCENTAGE FEE: With this option, the Tip Jar will be removed and a required 7.5% percentage processing fee will be applied at checkout. You have the option of adding this fee to your customer's order (customer covers the cost) or having the fee removed from the amount received from the purchase (organization covers the cost). This portion of the charge is electronically directed to PTOffice.

Example using Free Tip Jar:

Customer purchases $100 in goods and tips $2.

Stripe removes 2.2% + .30 from $100 and sends remainder to your organization = $97.50

Stripe removes 2.2% from tip and sends remainder to PTOffice = $1.96
